We have almost done it all

Since we first launched this website we have been alittle slow in updating it however we are now proud to point out that we have had a great last 3 years & have now exported
pretty much all the commercial livestock types & breeds, as well as covering 5 of our 7 continents & alot of the Islands inbetween. Recent examples include the airfreight of Dairy Cattle to both central Pakistan & the Interior of China, milking Buffalo from Australia to New Zealand, the first milking Goats to be exported to Turkey, stud Brahman beef heifers by air into Brazil and stud Sheep to the USA, just to name a few of the more interesting ones.

Ostrich - gold rush

Hedley John has been involved with Ostrich export for many years having completed dozens of export jobs accounting for thousands of chicks and eggs of predominantly Black and Blue/Black genetics mainly to Asia.

Dairy Goats - a growing niche

Dairy goat exports have been a very regular export animal for us having exported to Asia & South America a mix of quality Saanen, Toggenburg, Alpine, Australian Meelan, and Anglo Nubian genetics.

Meat Goats - strong potential

Over the years we have exported the full spectrum of meat goats that Australia and New Zealand have to offer. With individual animals like Australian Boer goat “Warlord” going to places like South America for a record price and large quantities of Feral/Boer crosses & Feral goats going to various Asian destinations as excellent value start up stock.

Cattle - to Asia

Our very first experience with large scale dairy cattle breeder export was to China with some of the strictest import protocols of any market. This without a doubt was a great logistics learning experience and since then there have been regular jobs both big and small come our way covering the full range of both breeds and quality.

Sheep - back to basics

Dorpers, Corriedales, Suffolks, Texel to name a few of the main breeds we have exported over the years to various parts of the world to both breeding centres and farmers alike.

Deer - to Asia

Rusa, Samba, Fallow, Reds, Elk and Chital are the most common breeds of deer we have exported to mainly South East Asian destinations. These species are some of the more difficult animals to manage so after dozens of exports and thousands of heads later we have unparalleled experience in keeping stress down and condition on.

Pigs - to the Islands

A relatively new export trade to us started about 2 years ago to the Pacific Islands. Although not a big business, This relatively new and regular business has added another level of depth to our export profile being mostly small number breeder pig shipments by commercial sea freight.

Rare Goats - to the UK

An interesting shipment of rare Arapawa Island goats which have stayed genetically the same since the days of Captain Cook. We were commissioned to export a small handful of these animals to a private rare breeds enthusiast in the United Kingdom. As you may well guess the health and well being of these animals in our care was of top importance.

Charity work - to East Timor

Always prepared to lend a hand, which we did recently by helping out an Australian school send a small shipment of breeding goats for charity to East Timor. Always a
pleasure to lend our skills for a good cause.

Charter plane - to Thailand

Not the easiest animals to export and one of our first deer exports to Asia was a 747 charter plane full of deer. It was a lot of hard work at the time but looking back at it now it was also a very exciting & successful shipment which has gone on to form the backbone of the Thai deer industry of today.

Charter boats - to China

The progression from charter planes is of course to charter boats which we have now put two such shipments successfully on the water full of Dairy Cattle. Pre export conditioning is very important and a practical knowledge of animal behavior both key ingredients in such large animal shipments.

Farm relocations

Part of a normal days work is also helping farmers abit closer to home get the animals they need. A growing part of our business has been moving farmer's capital stock between both New Zealand and Australia - depending on how good the grass looks on a particular side of the fence / ditch.

In country stock transport & logistics

After moving around tens of thousands of export animals over the years we would have to concede that the export freight component of a job is only one small part. When you look at the amount of co-ordination and preparation behind the scenes that goes into getting animals to the port of departure, and in a lot of cases from the port of landing to the destination farm or quarantine, you may well think that the export is the easy part.

Agri-products trading

We have sold and continue to sell seafood by the FCL from New Zealand and Chile to Asia & Europe as well as frozen FCL's of meats & offals from Australia, New Zealand and South America to Asia & Europe. In reverse we sell seafood from Asia to South America as well as quality New Zealand and Australian fencing and Agricultural products to various global markets. Not to mention a range of New Zealand and Australian livestock genetic materials here, there and everywhere.

Sub-contract jobs

A growing part of our business over the years is that we get “used” (in a good way) by farmers and other exporters, both large and small, to provide specialist livestock export services on their behalf to their own customers. Of course we are happy to provide this service as all parties win plus we are always mindful of protecting the integrity of the various relationships involved.
